Each of these mandalas pictures the universal in a singular expression, and thus mirrors our own individual window on eternity. For seven years, between November 13, 2004 and November 13, 2011, I offered daily my individual perspective on this Great Mystery. It seems surprising to me that I never noticed a cross before in the mandalas. Very pretty, too.
Dr. Reed refers to the mandalas as "squaring the circle" i think it should be "circling the square"
...more feminine and less monolithic :-)
Squaring the circle:
That phrase comes from the ancient tradition of attempting to manifest the soul into the earth. It is monolithic in that it is attempting to create something on the planet. Today, we often seem more interested in seeking the soul from earth, so "cirlcing the square" might be in order. ACtually, I work with the tension between circle and square, straight and curved.
